R9 280 3gb or r9 270x 4gb?

So an r9 280 3gb or r9 270x 4b? Their at almost the same price point and I dont know which one is better.

280. In reviews of the 3gb vs 6gb 280x, there is little to no performance increase even at 1440p.

Main reason i didn't get the 280 is that i only had 2x 6pin PCIe power connectors on my PSU, and didn't have the cash to get a better PSU for it. That ended up dying on my a few weeks later anyway, and i had to replace it, lol.

lol the resolutions needed for 4gb to be advantageous over 3gb would kill a 270x anyway. 280.

i was being stupid, although my psu could power a 280 but i choose a 270x instead, although the gpu was factory overclocked so it's faster than the reference model.

I'm going to jump onto the band wagon and suggest the 280 as well. Unless you're gaming on two or more monitors or 4K gaming, or even multiple 4K monitors for gaming I think 3GB of video memory should be plenty. The 280, even though it has less video memory is going to be a higher performer than the 270X.
