Building gaming pc for 1800€

I'm building a new pc. I'm from Europe (Slovenia). I was thinking to spend around 1500€ for the PC.

I also need a good monitor for around 200€ - 300€. (In the future I'll be adding another one, for a dual screen configoration, but only 1 will be used for gaming).

The PC will be in a red/black color scheme, so I want the parts to match that. It can also be in other matching colors.

I'll mainly use the PC for gaming.

I would like the system to be upgradable so I can add things in the future.

I was planing my setup kinda like this and would like some feedback:

(the prices are from local stores in my country)

CPU: I5 4670k -260€

CPU Cooling: Corsair H100i 110€

Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VII Ranger 168€

HDD: WD Black 1TB -80€

SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120 GB -90€

PSU: deciding between: Corsair RM 650W -120€ or  Corsair CS650M 650W - 90€

RAM: deciding between: Corsair Vengeance 1600 2x8GB - 163€ or Kingston HyperX Fury 1866 2x8GB -180€

GPU: deciding between:Asus DC2 GTX 780 -530€ or ASUS R9 290 -500€

Case: Haven't decided yet.

So that is kinda around 1500€

The rest of my budget i will be spending on a good monitor (haven't looked at any yet).

Any suggestions for the build and the monitor are welcome. :)

Hi, build looks OK but...

You can get 2TB HDD Seagate Barracuda for less money.

If you decide on R9 290 dont pick ASUS (R9 290(x) ASUS versions are one of the worst versions unfortunately). Sapphire Vapor-X or Tri-X are a lot better.

You can find a lot better PSU than RM 650W for cheaper. Try to look at Seasonic.

RAM - just pick cheapest color scheme that you like you will save a lot of money that way.

r9 290 has better value then the 780, it also nearly outperforms the 780 in some cases

CPU: i5-4690k GPU: 280x Toxic PSU: Coolermaster V750 Motherboard: Z97X-SOC RAM: Ripjaws 1x8 1600mhz Case: Corsair 750D HDD: WD Blue 1TB

do you NEED 16gigs?

NEED means you edit videos/render complex 3d scenes, and nothing else

I do a little of Video editing with Vegas PRO ... it's more like a hobby+ i don't mind the extra cost as long as the whole thing is arround 1500€, i want something future proof, or would it be  better to upgrade something else? as you said your build is 200€ less  :)  maybe get a 240gb ssd? And a good case? Btw how mouch for your storm stryker case?

well 16gigs is only really necessary when you do this regularly and cant afford having a frame be loaded from your drive ;) (i made do with 4gigs for 3d rendering for a while, so yes, a bigger ssd is preferable. do you want the monitor to be included in the price?

i bought it for 160 in november iirc (can check the warranty info thingy) so id say 85€ for you :)
