I love these overly expensive motherboards because literally in a couple of years, a brand new sub 200 dollar motherboard will be better in every single way.

It's an enthusiast platform with $1000 CPU's, of course it's going to be expensive.

 

 

IMO compared to the rest of the boards x99 has shown so far, this is hideous.  EVGA's z97 classified is so much better looking, I don't know why they didn't use design cues from that on this board.

Then why does your message seem like you're upset with it?

There has been $400-500 motherboards for a long time now, it's not like it's a new thing :P

 

And besides, this is the first consumer platform to support DDR4 (to my knowledge)+ an 8 core extreme edition, so $400 really isn't that bad in the big picture if someone is already going to be spending well over $2000-3000 on a system
