cable sleeving from scratch?

Kleptor
Go to solution Solved by W-L,

on the video lutro has a cable whre the terimanls are already crimped to the wire. does it make any difference if i buy my one wire, cute to size, and crimp on the terminals, as opposed to modifying the cable harness that come with my psu?

Ah ok, well it's somewhat of preferences and design choice, for the most part custom cut and crimp cables are done to cable manage better and get specific combinations for connectors like the sata power on hard drive cages to lined up nicely. I don't see any issues with sleeving the original cables, from the manufacture with the exception if the PSU has coloured cables it may be noticeable thorough lighter woven sleeving materials or light coloured ones, however with custom cables it can be countered by buying similar colored wires underneath to hide discrepancies.

so im looking to hand sleeve all the cables for my PSU. i have two questions. im going to use paracord but i dont know if it is better to but the cable splice it crimp the connectors sleeve the cable and buy harnesses or just use the cable harnesses that come with my module psu?

Second question is do you know if i can sleeve sata cables with paracord?

Not exactly sure what your asking about the splicing and harness, but as a guide down below is a good guide for paracord sleeving, as for sata data cables I don't believe there is a custom paracord size made for them, but many people use the bitfenix sleeved sata cables since their weave has a similar style to paracord.
