ram usage problem

Go to solution Solved by squirrl,

32bit is your issue. You need to install a 64bit OS to use over 3/4GB RAM.

hi today i reinstalled my windows(32bit) and i saw that my computer is using only 3gb out of 8gb ram. I looked at resource monitor and i saw that 4.9gb ram is reserved for hardware usage :

i tried msconfig max memory unchecking it didnt work. So if anyone can help me fix it, it would be very nice. (bad english because its my second language).

There is a hack I thought but that might toast your computer, can't even find it now soo... get a new OS.

win 32bit has a maximum of 4GB of RAM including VRAM, If you have a 1GB GPU the task manager might only show 3GB.

Or there is something else too...

It's not really an "issue" as such. The main reason for there being 64bit operating systems is basically for handling more memory.
