Now what about the FX 9590 vs the i7 4770K?

9590 is overpriced for the performance it offers and if you're looking at a 4770k you need to be looking at a 4790k.

Let's not forget the 9590 also requires advanced cooling solutions. I wouldn't even trust the Hyper 212 Evo with that monstrosity. Would you like fried eggs with that?

Next AMD flagship:

AMD FX II 900

Specs:

10 CPU Cores clocked @ 4.5 GHz

12 R9 GPU Cores clocked at 1.7 GHz

Full-level HSA implementation (graphics cores schedule things themselves)

TDP 300 Watts

*Now it can cook a rotisserie chicken in just 37 minutes!

More core does not equal to better performance(especially in older games).

Get the unlocked i5.

What will be your primary use for it?

You could go either way imo. If you are playing mainly multi threaded games the 8350 is slightly faster. I would take the 8350 because it is cheaper therefore better price/performance ratio. I can post all kinds of data to help you make a better decision. If you are interested let me know.

You can't be serious.  Hyperthreading is a market joke?

Get the unlocked i5.

specifically it equals better throughput if and only if there exist programs you use which utilize a core count higher than 4.

9590. Cheaper cost, slightly inferior performance but can cook an egg or heat up your room during the cold wet winter nights.

It's cheaper until you have to pay for the cooling solution and the undeniably higher electric bill for 3 years. That thing idles at almost 70 watts.

Yes, the cost argument is normally blown out of proportion. Not this time.

But your bills for the gas is lowered- no need for central heating. And by the way, I do hope you realise I was being sarcastic :)

Didn't really know 300$ is cheaper than 300$?
