How do I set up a SSD as boot with HDD as storage

Go to solution Solved by YT2002,

Ohh is that really all there is to it?

So when starting, all I do is pick the SSD as boot and make sure to format the HHD so that it is seen.

Is that it or did you mean something different by partition?

Yes. When you install windows, you install it on the SSD. Then when you are setup go into disk manager and format the HDD. Then in steam and chrome you can set to download to SSD or HDD

I want to know how to set this up. So that I can have only the boot
on my SSD, while having everything else on the HDD.

This way I can read and write as much as I want on my HDD with

out worrying that the SSD is being affected.

For example; download steam games or programs, save files,

and other stuff.

Thanks in advance.

You just need to setup both drivers in your system and install your OS to the SSD. Then when you're installing your just partition the HDD so it'll show up in Windows. Finally in programs like steam and origin you can change the download directory and you can also change the directory of your libraries, pictures, videos, documents, downloads etc.

You will need to set steam, chrome etc to save in a certain place. For chrome you can choose where to download and for steam go into settings for your stuff to save to the HDD

PC is Intel Core i5 6400, GIgabyte H170 Gaming 3, Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x4GB 2400Mhz ,Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB, WD Blue 1TB, NZXT S340, ASUS Geforce GTX 960. Fractal Design Tesla R2 650W. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/793XNG. Graphics card choices don't always have to be dictated on performance. If you want the game stream and power consumption of the GTX 970 get that. If you want raw performance of the R9 390 get that. In the end we are all gamers, so what if your buddy gets an extra 5 fps?
