*HELP* custom front I/O..

a_higby

So I want to make my own custom front i/o for my case, but I can't seem to find a place that sells the usb inputs e.g where you plug in your usb (both 3.0 and 2.0 ports) and that cable leads to an internal header.

Does anyone know of a place that sells just internal wires for computers (usb 2.0 and 3.0 front port to internal headers)?

Thanks in advance.

I would just purchase some standard USB extension cables off monoprice and cut them as long as your planning to solder socekts and crimp on internal headers, but ModDIY has straight cable for sale:

Not sure if this helps, it's a hard thing to search because you just get all standard male to male usb cables in the results.

Thanks for the help, but I think I'm just going to buy a 900D front i/o and take it apart to be honest. it has all the inputs I need.

If it's not too late, will this work?

I'm not planning to do this till close to july, so keep the ideas flowing. thanks for the idea, I'll just keep getting more ideas together and then pick closer to the time of the build

you mean this? of yes, just search for internal [standard] to female port and you get everything from USB2, 3 to firewire, 3.5mm, etc

I saw in another post something like this but with the power button, check it out, it's from coolermaster.

http://www.coolermaster.com/case/case-accessories/915iomodule/

if there's something you don't want you can take everything apart and superglue what you need where you want it to be  :D

(found another one, this is a little messier) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007YDJJFS

I think the best path for me currently is to get the 900D front i/o and take that one apart. My front will have specifications different to any case so i doubt I will be able to transplant one from a different case.
