YouTube Go

So I did discover that YouTube Go app can be side loaded

1. Install like normal

2. Go to settings, apps, YouTube Go

3. Go to the permission settings and turn on all permissions

4. Restart the app should run normally

Can't guarantee it will work on all phones but that's what I did on mine

Samsung Galaxy Note 8+ Android Version 8.0.0

YouTube Go version 1.41.58

what is the youtube go app?

Android has grown bloated in the past couple years, Android Go and their Go apps was Google's solution to allow Android to keep working on low memory/budget devices, instead of just getting rid of the bloat in all versions.

I was initially looking forward to the Go update for my Nokia 2, but after finding out the Map Go app is essentially just a web app that require online connectivity to work and doesn't have the ability to download maps offline, I'm seriously considering simply never updating it... Or have to use a third party map app.

Ya I know Linus was disappointed when he couldn't side load it from his $99 dollar phone review. YouTube Go app also let you download videos for viewing when u had no wifi or limited data service with your mobile carrier
