Crucial MX 500

ZeouLs

Did any of you guys/gals have had bad experiences with the Crucial MX 500 to be precise the 1TB version. I need to upgrade my storage and right now the Samsung 970 evo 1TB goes for 199 bucks (black friday deal) instead of like something around 430. BUT I dont really need the speeds of an nvme and a m.2 sata would be sufficient. Any reason not to go for the crucial? From what I could see, they appearently run quite a bit hot. Is that a problem in the long run?

The MX500 has power loss protection. Not sure if Evos do. I know the Pro Samsungs do.

the mx500 doesn't have full powerloss protection like the enterprise drives and there is no capacitors to flush the ram to flash. The partial power loss features just keeps data that is written safe. If you need the best possible data integrity don't get a consumer ssd, but there basically the same here.

It works fine, but the 860 evo is often cheaper now, and will be basically the same if not a bit better.

It actually costs more for me
