Curved screen worth it?

Hello,

 

I recently posted a question about curved screen monitors and was told they slightly improve the immersion. But upon further research, it seems this is only on monitors 27" and up. The max size monitor I'm looking to get is 24", so is a curve screen useless (especially since I currently have a widescreen monitor)?

Not useless, they do what they advertise.  Try to keep the distance from the screen to your eyes the same all over.  It's a benefit, only you can tell how much of one.  Go see one in person.

 

Even more of a benefit in ultrawides, yes.

You won't notice a difference on a 24" screen.

If it's the same price then sure why not, but don't pay any more.

Thanks. Yeah, it's about the same price, but I thought the curve screen would be a better experience even if slightly. But if it doesn't make a difference, then no point to it.

Yeah I would like to see one for myself, but unfortunately haven't found one for 24". I would rather not go higher than that.

For 24 and not the main screen, don't pay extra for curved.

The new monitor is going to be the main screen, but just wanted to know if getting a curved on a 24" monitor would actually yield any benefits. From what the replies say, if the monitor is the same price as a widescreen, then I should go for it. But, if it's more expensive, then it's not worth it. Thanks

I mean... “worth it”. I don’t really know what there is to be different. Some people like it some people don’t. It doesn’t really make a difference to me. I think it’s kind of stupid to make a curved 16:9 though. But it’s whatever you want. I’d encourage you to go look at one before buying it.

Yeah honestly I want to see one as well, but the ones I've seen are bigger than 24", and I don't want to go higher than that. If it's the same price as a widescreen then it wouldn't hurt to get. But if it'd more expensive then I'll just go with the widescreen. I just thought it would be a better viewing experience

I mean I guess it would be, but 24” is a relatively small display size if you think about it. When you get like 29 and 34” ultrawides, it definitely does help with immersion and visibility and such, but yeah with a smaller 1080p screen I think it’s not worth it if it’s more expensive. My $0.02
