Is an upgrade RX 580 Worth It?

So with black Friday/cyber Monday rolling around and RX 580s (8GB model) being back in stock, I'm considering getting one. Currently I am looking at getting one around $199.99 however I don't know if its worth getting the card performance wise. Currently I have a 1050 TI with an i5 8400 and I play at 1080p resolution.

It's quite a lot faster than the 1050ti so I'd say it's worth it. Look at benchmarks for the games you play most though

Are you getting your desired framerate at the graphical settings you like? Only upgrade to a RX 580 if the answer to this question is no.

Yeah an RX 580 8GB is pretty much the same as a GTX 1060 6GB so that's a decent upgrade. $200 is a great deal as well.

The real question is do you ever plan to use G sync or Free sync monitors in the future. For me thats the reason I go with AMD cards. I'm not willing to pay another 200 bucks for a monitor with G sync. But with a freesync monitor theres no add on price. 

 

While yes I do like playing FPS title games at 144hz on medium settings I do play games meant to be run at higher quality at 60fps. So for me because of that I need a Frame Syncing monitor and I'm not paying for g syncs shit add on price. So I go with AMD and there consumer friendly option. 

 

So with that said what applies from my situation to yours. Use that answer to answer your OG question.
