Best workstation "laptop"

Go to solution Solved by r2724r16,

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme

Best workstation "laptop" for heavy finite element applications and rendering. Gaming not important at all. Budget 2000 -2500$. Weight range- lighter the better. Definitely should be portable. Aesthetically pleasing to look at (like razer or mac)

Any suggestion is highly appreciated.

you cant have both light powerful and thin/nice looking ESPECIALLY not like a mac book, this form factor doesn't allow for anything powerful while keeping it cool enough.

most professional people that still use of the shelf stuff go with the Dell Precision series but you will need to decide if you want performance or if you want to give away performance just to have something look fancy.

I mean, the laptop Linus showed off in last video would be perfect for workstation use, but it isn't lightweight (AT ALL)

I was actually just about to say the same thing.

If you want a 'true' workstation laptop, Thinkpad P52/P72, Precision 7530/7730 or Zbook 15/17 G5 (these two models are usually priced extremely high)
