GTX 1080 ti vs GTX 1080

Hey guys, I am making a new build maily for PC gaming, budget is around 2000 CAD

 

My questions is which of the following CPU / GPU combo will give the better performence 

 

GTX 1080 ti + ryzen 5 2600 x 

or 

GTX 1080 + Intel I5 8600K overclocked to around 4.7 Ghz 

 

The two build actually cost around the same.. surprisingly 

Mainly cuz of the extra money spend on CPU coolers and a decent mobo to support the overclocked 8600k

If you can spare a little extra cash over the $2k budget, go with the Ryzen 7 2700 + 1080Ti.

U wont see much from a 2600x to 2700 non x.

If you're only gaming, then probably not much, though it will depend on the game whether or not it can use the 8c/16t of the 2700. It will help more if you want to do things like stream to twitch while gaming.

General consensus seems to be to not buy the 2600x and instead buy the 2600 and OC it.

this is build is actually for my friend and shes not planning to do any sort of overclocking or streaming 

 

honestly any cpu is good as long as its not bottle necking a 1080ti

Given the difference in the cards, I’d go with the top rig. But I prefer intel, so I’d get an 8700k or better and a 1080ti.
