Basically Black Ops 4 and FFXV have times where the games have huge fps drops and I assume its because of the ram. I currently am running a 2x4gb G.Skill at 2133mhz frequency, I was wondering if its worth it to get new 2x8gb at higher freq or just add another 2x4gb to just get my frames stable. My current build is a windforce 1080, i5 8600k. Thanks!

Watch your RAM usage in game to see if that is actually your problem. Also if you do upgrade your RAM, try to get the same RAM that you already have in your computer to avoid all possible compatibility issues. Even if you bought faster RAM, it would only run at the slower speed anyways (and RAM speed on Intel doesn't matter really in games).

My Build, v2.1 --- CPU: i7-8700K @ 5.2GHz/1.288v || MoBo: Asus ROG STRIX Z390-E Gaming || RAM: 4x4GB G.SKILL Ripjaws 4 2666 14-14-14-33 || Cooler: Custom Loop || GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC Black, on water || PSU: EVGA G2 850W || Case: Corsair 450D || SSD: 850 Evo 250GB, Intel 660p 2TB || Storage: WD Blue 2TB || G502 & Glorious PCGR Fully Custom 80% Keyboard || MX34VQ, PG278Q, PB278Q

Audio --- Headphones: Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX || Amp: Schiit Audio Magni 3 || DAC: Schiit Audio Modi 3 || Mic: Blue Yeti

[Under Construction]

My Truck --- 2002 F-350 7.3 Powerstroke || 6-speed

My Car --- 2006 Mustang GT || 5-speed || BBK LTs, O/R X, MBRP Cat-back || BBK Lowering Springs, LCAs || 2007 GT500 wheels w/ 245s/285s

The Experiment --- CPU: i5-3570K @ 4.0 GHz || MoBo: Asus P8Z77-V LK || RAM: 16GB Corsair 1600 4x4 || Cooler: CM Hyper 212 Evo || GPUs: Asus GTX 750 Ti, || PSU: Corsair TX750M Gold || Case: Thermaltake Core G21 TG || SSD: 840 Pro 128GB || HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB

R.I.P. Asus X99-A motherboard, April 2016 - October 2018, may you rest in peace. 5820K, if I ever buy you a new board, it'll be a good one.

Haven't tried BO4, but FFXV can be quite heavy on RAM usage, so insufficient RAM could potentially be the cause of your issue. FFXV is also pretty demanding on the GPU and CPU as well, and depending on what settings you use it may not just be the RAM that is limiting you.

Which CPU do you have? Which CPU you have may determine whether you *need* faster memory or if you can get by with just 2133MHz.

Regardless, my recommendation would be go with a 2x8GB 3000MHz kit for around $120 USD and sell your current 2x4GB 2133MHz kit for around $40-$50 (or keep it if you have another system that could use it).

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

Yeah, nevermind. I'm an idiot and just saw the title :D

In that case, I'd still go with this...
