What everyone's trying to say is that it will take a long time to make up for the price of the graphics card. If you really want to get into mining, I'd suggest an RX 580.

 

EDIT: According to https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/eth, if you mine with an RX 580 consistently for a year, you'll get around $171 per year (that's with the current price of Ethereum). You can gauge for yourself if you want to invest that much time.

put it this way. If electricity is not free, then the cards will die before you make enough money to buy another card of the same tier at that time.

I was mining ethereum back when a single 390 would pull almost 1 ETH per day.  You're far too late to the party.

Depends on what you are about to drop to get started. Payout has been pretty consistent the past few months. Still half of what it used to be though. Should have started 2 years ago. Roi in 6 months, all profit after $800 electric bills. 55k later.
