school wifi :(

Hello there,

ok so i know you guys dont get this alot but i rlly need some help here,

I would like to play games at school (i stay the night at there), but as there is a dns block for almost all apps I cant do that. Now i was wondering if you guys could help me.
so my school has 2 wifi's: 1 for students that has a proxy server that blocks us from getting around the dns block and one for the professors that still has a dns block but a more limited one and does not have a proxy server.

so i was wondering if there was a way to either 1, get around the proxy and then undo the dns block or 2 get the password and username of the proffessor wifi. All i know is that the eap method is peap and the second step verification is mschapv2. I also know that there was a password in use that we had before and that worked until someone went to the it manager and he saw it. now that wont work anymore and when i try to connect via my phone it sais authenticationproblem.

So if any of you guys could help me please do.

ps, our it guy is a retard so he doesnt see anything wrong.

a vpn ?

and by playing games, you mean it prevents you from say, logging into steam ?
because for that you could use offline mode..

I would suggest a VPN like hotspot shield or x-vpn. Thats what I used to use, and installed on about a 100 others phones on laptops because of the same north-koran style censorship that they enforced.

the IT people were too busy rimming each other that they didn't notice that most of the school had VPN's

 

I don't know if this will work for you though, as they might block the magic that VPN's operate off, but give it a go

no not really but it is really slow

i managed to download hotspotshield via softonic so ill try that

Its probs the easiest to set up, just don't go for the trail stuff thought otherwise they start charging for it

It does have a download/upload limit, but I haven't used It in a while and I cant remember what it is. 

On Mac there is a way of circumventing this, but I don't know if there is on windows to the same degree.

If you are using Windows, download and install Brave web browser. After installed, open and right click on the plus sign (+) to open a new tab. Select the option from the right click menu for "New Private Tab with Tor". Once Tor is connected, you should be able to browse from any site you need to get to within that browser tab. From there, you should be able to download any VPN clients you want.

You can find a websites ip by pinging it.

 

However, a school network is set-up like this with good reason. If the school find out you are messing with their network, or obtaining usernames and passwords you shouldn't have you'll end up being sued.

That's not the case in our school. Our IT don't really care. I have installed my own programs on my schools pc while ive been in my IT lessons. I had to do it with a little trick that I found because I diddnt have all the privalages to do it normally but when I asked if they knew about it, they said that they did but diddnt care.
