No, just wondering if it's worth upgrading for future purposes, if at all.

No manufacture offers "solder on" upgrades AFAIK. It is possible to swap chips on an iPhone (see StrangeParts Youtube Channel for the video where they swap a 64gb or 126gb with a 256gb or 512gb chip.. took them 2 or 3 months and about 10 failed attempts and a few damaged parts!)

So... not worth the effort! XD

SSD is slightly possible to change... but it's risky taking tablets or iMac Pros (hahaha) apart!

ram you may be able to upgrade

cpu ... unlikely ... it most likely would involve modifying the bios to add microcode and other code required by the new cpu

also, these boards typically are very fine tuned, for example if the current cpu peaks at 10w power consumption, the dc-dc converter on the motherboard may be designed for maximum 12w ... so you may not be able to install a more powerful cpu because that one may peak at 15w so it may just shut down when it doesn't get enough power

I see...

So, still not worth it. Damn you Intel...

I asked about CPUs in another thread, but can you de-solder and replace RAM in something like this?

it is possible  to do but you need a lot of tools for it. its not so simple and if you make 1 mistake even the lightest mistake the whole system is screwed

you need to take out the motherboard to even think about doing it

in the macbooks with the older intel core 2 duo chips

there was a guy who manged to make a macbook from 2009 with a 2.8ghz cpu that only had 2.1 so it can be done but like i said its a pain to do so

You can try but it's extremely risky and difficult. I'll rather get something else
