New rendering machine AS FAST AS POSSIBLE

Hi all,

 

First-time poster here. I run an event management company that uses Sketchup & Vray to render 3D event floorplans. 

 

At the moment we're running an i7-6800k, dual GTX-1080, 64gb ram etc. This is proving inadequate. We would like to swap it out as our main machine, and instead, use it as a rendering node. 

 

Therefore I'm looking at a new build specifically for rendering, the budget would be around £6000-£6500

 

I've seen the new RTX Quattro's and am wondering if they're better to go for than the 2080ti's? 

 

Also the Ryzen Threadrippers look compelling compared to Intel's offering.

 

Can anyone provide some incite?

Threadripper cpus are rendering beasts and far out class Intel cpus at each price point. Quadros are generally more stable for certain applications and have better driver support but I am unsure if this matters for your application because I think rendering is usually fine and doesn't benifit from special drivers like some 3d modeling programs.

Looks like Vray can take advantage of bot CPU and GPU (possibly simultaneously,"Hybrid mode" depending on the program)

Sketchup itself seems much more basic, so you hsould be covered no matter what system you go with for the base software
