So i decided i wanted to get some more ram for my pc. I wasn't sure of the exact spec so i opened up my pc and had a look. the attached image is my ram. i then had a look online to see if i could find some. But i couldn't find it. Anywhere. I looked on the mem-star website and the closest they had was the second attached image. I don't think it's the same. the ram says 12800Mhz, but I'm pretty certain thats not a thing. HELP

Getting the exact same set/stick will be quite difficult, especially since Memstar isn't exactly as big of a manufacturer as compared to likes of Kingston, Corsair or Crucial/Micron.

In your hand you have DDR3, 8GB of 1600Mhz memory. Not sure on what the CL is.

the 12800 just means it's 1600Mhz, not sure why they made it confusing by sticking 'mhz' behind it. PC3-12800 = DDR3 running at 1600Mhz.

Just get a set of the most generic memory closest in spec to this one (aka, if you have a 8GB stick, not 2x4GB, just get another 8GB stick of DDR3 1600Mhz memory with no additional heatspreaders and such.. That should work just fine).

Okay thanks. The Mhz behind 12800 just threw me off.

Try Thaiphoon Burner to READ the stick.  It can give a lot of detail.

Or you can just look up H5TQ4G83AFR  (written on chips) on hynix's website: https://www.skhynix.com/products.view.do?vseq=881&cseq=74

4 gbit chips (so 512 MB per chip) x 16 = 8 GB , PBC in corner is speed grade and means 1600mhz 11-11-11
