Intel I5 8600k or AMD Ryzen 5 2600x

Im upgrading my cpu and i cant make the decision of an I5 8600k or Ryzen 5 2600x. My pc is mainly for gaming but i would also like to be able to do some light streaming. The i5 is 100$ (Australian) more and i dont know if it would be worth it to spend that extra money. Thanks

For $100 more, f#ck that i5, lol.

Generally for gaming I'd have said go i5 and for streaming R5, but with the price difference I don't see a point of discussion.

dont forget you need a z series board to make the most of the 8600k, which is another 50$ and a cooler which is another 50$

get a 2600 + B450 Tomahawk + perhaps a towercooler for overclocking

currently Intel chips are in a 14nm shortage meaning they hve inflated pricepoint. the 2600 has gotten recent pricecuts and is currently the best valuechip, especially whith an 4,1/4,2 ghz overclock (you will need an aftermarket cooling for this)

Worse board than the tomahawk, cooler is good.

If yiu want a prettier board than the tomahawk then the higher tier B450 boards have the same VRM and everything, but with more stash
