This setting right?

The (translated) "hard drive -> hard drive power off -> setting = never"

Hey, i just started running windows 8.1 pro as my main nas os with some vm`s in the background.

I was wondering if using windows 8.1 pro as a os for long time 24/7 operation could do any damage to my seagate ironwolf drives or if i should turn settings off inside windows that are hurting the drives.

Windows will do fine for storage. To keep the drives spinning (mostly recommended for NAS drives, consumer drives are fine with lots of start/stops) you can probably force that somewhere in the power options in the control panel.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro
