Switching from Android to iOS

Hey all!

 

I'm very new here. It's my first post here?

 

So far a very long time, I've been a devoted Android user. I've rooted many phones, Installed custom ROMS, Kernels etc.

I've never expirienced an iOS before and wanted to switch to it, So I'm getting an iPhone 6S because its cheap and seems like a good entry point into the iOS ecosystem.

 

I need help on what to do and what not to do and what i will miss the most when i Switch.

You can do whatever you want because you can't brick the phone. You'll probably miss some customizing how things look. Other than that there's a file browser now and things like work flow allow you to do anything you want really.

Switching to iOS is really, really easy. At first you’ll be annoyed by the lack of a back button. But everything is quite intuitive. And most of the apps you like on Android are on iOS as well. 

 

I am by no means a power user. But other people get annoyed by the lack of advanced features in the quick access menus.

Did you verify any must-have apps are available in similar working-form on iOS ?
Otherwise get used to the assistant being far less useful and getting way more updates automatically than you're used to (haha).

What was the newest Android phone you used before trying this?  Was it at least on 7.x/8.x (Nougat/Oreo)?

Yes. I'm currently using Android 7.1.2

 

I'm not a power user, I use Social media and some light gaming along with study apps.

Most of the apps I use are available on iOS, so no problem there.

I love the swipe back feature on iOS, I've seen my friends do it and it looked super intuitive

I’ve been an apple user since I got my first iPhone 4 and I’ve loved it I’ve never actually really owned an android but android has always felt slow to me and confusing that’s why I like IOS and iOS is way more optimized since they only have 3 new devices every year instead 100 android products every year

No... that's not how that works.  What's optimized?  Speed?  You do realize that the actual number of SoC's used in most android flagships is limited to almost 1 per year (see: Snapdragon 845). 

 

The idea that Android is poorly optimized and slow may be just partly true of Android from over 7 years ago, you would be surprised if you gave it a fair shake now.

I do and there multi and single score were I mean a lattice bit slower but there still slower and they do speed tests and the iPhone wins all the time the new iPhone XS  beat Samsung note 9 in load speeds and rendering and exporting speeds

You can't compare an iPhone to an Android device, you can get for $200 an Android device that can do the same things as a new iPhone, and that's because of people's usage of their phones.
