Hackintosh 900 - 1000

Go to solution Solved by lilc,

this I think is the final build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2wcUE i went with the 840 evo because i'm not sure if the hyperX is hackintosh compatible.

As far as I know every ssd should be compatible, I think I used a kingston ssd.

Anyway it looks good.

More pcie slots, supports sli.

removes 2 usb 2.0 on the back io for 2 more usb 3, you will want to put the installation usb stick in usb 2 anyway.

And one more usb 3 header for your case, which the r4 only has one anyway.

More sata ports

Nothing that's worth paying more

so do I put the install usb into the motherboard?

The extra speed of ram wont make a difference that's worth the price or that can be seen.

You would put it in the black usb 2 port at the back of your case.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2wbfd I did the new motherboard because I don't need the 2 tb and I thought it was worth the trade for 2tbs for the better motherboard because hard drives are so much easier to upgrade. The main point of this build is to have it be very upgradable because I'm going to end up spending 1500 dollars on this. So I want the motherboard to be good and since it's my first build I want the motherboard to be easy to build on. The memory I don't know it matched my motherboard and I've heard good things about it. I might still go with the pny memory though.

please make edits though as this still I think could get cheaper. It might be easier if you did a pcpartpicker build.

The hd3 is pretty much the same as the ud3h and I doubt it will change future upgrading much. I have personally built a hackintosh on the hd3.

Ram brands don't matter much, they are mostly the same.

the seagate barricuda is the same price and a bit faster.

Yes unless you plan on overclocking.

Also for some reason this 840 evo is cheaper

I would also recommend this ssd

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/kingston-internal-hard-drive-sh103s3120g

It's cheaper and just as good

There's no point getting an unlocked cpu with the H87 chipset.

Also, I'm pretty sure your build could be cheaper or better for the price.

will cuda cores excelerate photoshop at all?

Yes but OpenCL works as well.
