Hey everybody,

I'm not overly happy about using normal headphones, as my ears usually touch the cloth on the inside of them. So I'm considering buying a pair of in-ears. How are they usually for gaming? Are they, no matter the price, subpar to headphones?

On the stage I'm pretty sure most pros wear in ears for sound and over ears for noise cancellation/mic

have you tried larger headphones? there are quite a few smaller over ear ones, but there are larger too.

I'm having a hard time finding those larger ones. I have tried Sennheiser Game One and I currently got Sennheiser PC37X. They're both the same when it comes to my ears touching the inner cloth. I tried a pair of Beyerdynamic once, but they just sat in my ears, which wasn't comfortable for me at all.

I really like in-ears for gaming. Not as big and bulky and they block lots of sound out. I think high end open-backs are the best experience but you want a quieter environment.

Audio directionality is unfortunately affected but I found it to be plenty good enough for me, and worth all the other pros.

I'd you don't already have in-ears I recommend the Mee Audio M2 Pro (get the second gen). Awesome value and a pretty flat response for the price.

That's an F in the profile pic

hyperx revolver s perhaps? my steelseries Siberia elite prism are quite roomy, though a touch on the heavy side (also not the most durable)

edit: in-ears arent that uncommon when it comes to gaming though.

I've been looking at the HyperX Cloud Flight actually, but I don't know if there's a loss when you pick wireless. I'm not a pro gamer, but I play PUBG quite a lot, and I tend to take it seriously when I do, haha.

On the topic of bigger headphones, I have quite large ears and normally find it uncomfortable to wear them for a long period of time.

I bought a pair of Marshall Monitor headphones and they sit fine on my ears. They're not gaming headphones but still do a pretty good job, I have no issues.

Audio-Technica M40X with Brainwaves HM5 Angled ear pads.  Great headphone for everything and with those pads there is no way your ears will be annoyed.

Don't buy gaming headsets although the Sennheiser ones are the exception imo just noting for future purchase...  Also the sennheiser's really are not that deep of a headphone either.. I own two pairs HD558 and HD6XX and they are fine for me but you may want to stay away from them if you didn't like the headsets they made.
