Upgrade GPU or CPU?

Hey guys, 

 

I haven't been in the PC gaming for awhile now and my current build is an 

 

i5 2500 (non K)

8Gb Ram

GTX 1050 Ti

 

I only use this computer for gaming.  

 

Im really looking to mostly play like Forza horizon 4. 

 

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

probably cpu in this case, though if u can find a used cpu or a rx 580 on sale, go for it

Forza's mostly GPU bound, so spend that money on a graphics card. Also check whether you need a new PSU. what model is that?

That’s an EVGA 600 Watt bronze PSU. 

 

Many suggestions on a GPU? I know the 2500 it’s pretty old at this point.

4 cores is 4 cores my friend. I would look at cpu usage in game and see if your pinned at 100% on cpu or gpu.

Like $200 I could definitely sell my current 1050 Ti also.

ive seen a rx 570 4gb which is faster than a 1050 ti go as low as $150, but if you can muster a bit more cash, look into a rx 580. Don't bother with the 8gb 570 as its not powerful enough imo to utilize it, but the 580 could go either way with the gram sizes, just go with you budget at that time.

Perfect. I'm not sure what the used market for 1050Ti's is like in your region but if you could get like $100ish then you have $300 to work with and that could potentially get you a 1070, considering a new EVGA GTX 1070 SC GAMING ACX 3.0 Black Edition is $365USD

unless its pubg or assassins creed, I wouldn't worry. you can match the cpu performance of a ps4 pro with an intel Pentium in 90% of cases

It will in some titles, but you only have the budget for one so start with a GPU then upgrade your CPU later on.

 

A $200 budget won't get you too far on upgrading your CPU, motherboard, and RAM.
