Open MS office docs without having MS office ?

Hi, I'm just curious whether or not I would be able to open MS office docs such as Word or PowerPoint on different machine that has no MS office suite installed?

There are many programs that will open ms office docuements, many are free.

Microsoft has an free, reduced functionality, online version of Office https://office.live.com/. Otherwise Google's cloud office suite can open them, as will Open/Libre Office if you prefer an offline method. Also WordPad can open up Word docs, but the formatting may be messed up.

 

PowerPoint is a little more hazy for me since I don't use it, but I'd imagine what I mentioned should support it if they have some slideshow app.

Google’s suite and libre office read the formats.

You can download Word Viewer, Excel Viewer and Powerpoint Viewer. Not well known, but they are Microsoft tools. Free.
