Wow... I never even notice the tags. It is really easy to miss or skip, especialy when you are on a phone. 

 

Well, I dont have any experience with either of these phones so I will pass on the question.

I would say they are about equal, but you might also take a look at the honor play, pocophone f1 and p20 pro

Xiaomi have recently released their Pocophone F1 with specs of a top range phone at a mid range price. Definitely something to check out.

 

Between your two phones, I would have to say the Pixel for the camera, and the S8 for the looks. But they are very equal and all comes down to your personal preference.

What about Price difference?

Pixel 2 has the better Camera, and faster/longer software updates (2 more years full version updates, it WILL get Android 11).

Galaxy S8 will have Android 9 has it's last Update (sometime 2019).

 

Pocophone F1: Don't let it blind you. It is VERY cheap considering it has a Snapdragon 845, 6gb Ram.

But these 2 parts are not what makes a Phone a Flaggship.

- only LCD instead Oled

- no NFC

- no OIS

- only Plastic (objective not a bad material, inf act, better than metal/glas. More robust, flexible, lighter etc.), which doesn't "feel" as premium.

 

It does have disadvantages at that cost, and it is NOT a Flaggship Killer (unless all the negative parts don't affect you).

 

What about the Oneplus 6t, which comes October 17th?

Even tho the pixel has a better camera, i still prefer the S8+ because of the bigger screen, wireless charging and higher IP rating which means more waterproof.
