Microphone Explanation/Recommendation?

Hi everyone!

To get strait to my point: a class partner and I are in a class that requires us to record each other doing mock counseling sessions. That said, I need a mic that would be able to pick up both of our voices quite clearly (already using a c920 for video recording). I will be buying the equipment since I could also use it for streaming or during gaming. Can anyone explain what would be the benefits of a directional and omnidirectional for a situation like this (i suppose it would be similar to podcasts). Budget is about $70. Nothing crazy fancy. Just need it to get me through graduate training. T-T

I'm torn between the snowball and snowball ice/amazon basics mic. Just unsure if the extra cost for the omnidirectional capabilities is worth it for this purpose. I thought it was better for musicians?

Considering youre doing a recording for counselling sessions, omnidirectional would be a want.
