Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Yeah what's your current PC? Best be will be to use as much of that as possible and upgrade only the bare minimum. PC building usually has a higher upfront cost compared to consoles, you save money in the long run from not having to buy things like Xbox live/PlayStation Pro to play online, and through your game with things like steam sales and websites like g2a.com

I currently have a little hp laptop that’s years old with an i3 in it. I don’t need any peripherals or monitors but need everything else. (I also have a very old red tiny laptop with a intel atom in it, but I doubt that has anything good in it)

Yeah close enough why

You should be able to easily get at least the CPU/GPU/Motherboard/RAM cheap there, they might have bundle deals.

Go for an R5 2600 + RX 570/580, though AMD might launch new polaris GPUs next month...

MAYBE just buy a cheap R3 2200G machine for <$400 then add in a next gen GPU soon enough...? Hard choice.

you get $30-50 off if you get a cpu and mobo from microcenter. looking at the prices for everything else though, i'm not sure why everyone keeps claiming they're low.

The in store pricing is supposed to be good

If you go to microcenter the only B450 boards to really consider are the ASrock Pro 4 or MSI Tomahawk for the money.

Building a PC is simple

I would maybe consider just going with the Ryzen APU for now, then adding in a 12nm polaris GPU if they really do come out in october, very much a rumor, can upgrade the CPU to an 8 core Ryzen 3000 one hopefully early next year as well.
https://wccftech.com/amd-radeon-polaris-30-gpu-family/

It can do gaming pretty well with faster memory.

I will not prefer build a budget low end PC and upgrade very soon, it just costs much more on redundant parts

here is a list I pick, it will end up around $700........ but it will last much longer till next upgrade

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6Vc9RJ

Pick any m-atx size case of your preference and add 1-2TB hard drive any time you want

for 1st time builders, just watch some youtubes guide from DIFFERENT people.
