We see you americans as both model to follow and avoid. 

for example, we criticise the way you let people buy guns, but when someone is robbed in italy we say " if we were americans we could buy guns for self defense!" 

another thing which bothers me a lot is the fact that a lot of italians think everyone in usa is obese and fat (Absolutely wrong) and blame the american food,but at the same time they just can't say no to americans fast food chains... it's just stupid 

 

Why is the traffic in Rome so insane?

mainly because the street system is built upon ancients roman roads, and the fact that every meters or two you find an old monument makes it very difficult to fix it...

 

 

What type of pizza do you like?

In italy it's called Margherita (type of flower) and it's tomato sauce with mozzarella cheese on top

Since the others will ask random and characteristic questions about Italy i guess I can ask something a bit deeper

 

How is the relationship between Northern and Southern parts of Italy? As far as I know the South is generally paid a lot less and typically works with fishing, farming and such, while the North is better paid and typically works within the fashion industry, car industry and industry in general. Is this the way it actually is?

 

And how is it growing up in such a big city? I myself grew up on a little Island outside the little city of Bergen so just wondering how the life in the big city is (assuming you live in the city and not the countryside ).

 

How does one feel the aftermath of Mussolini and his dreams for a new Rome today? Is it like in Germany where you feel the history everywhere or have the Italians forgot instead of face the history?

 

And as a bouts: Do you like Spaghetti Carbonara or Spaghetti Bolognese best?

well that's a good question  

 

it is true that italy is mainly divided in north and south but it really depends on the city you're looking to. for example Milan (which is located in the north part of italy) is mainly focused on fashion industry, as you mentioned, but as soon as you leave the urban area you find a variety of different companies which treats different fields. It is also true that the north is more developed, and i think it is because it took the traditions of this country and put them away. since the south is based on traditions is not developed as the north. Also in the south part of italy the criminal organizations is still very effective and control everything down there. i could talk hours of my country it's just too difficult for me find the appropriate term in english (english in italy is the secondary language but its poorly taught).

I lived mainly few kilometres away from rome but since my dad used to live there i know my city and here growing up really depends on the neighborhood you were born... People don't always accept you as you are and often you have to change yourself (clothes, the way you speak, political ideas, even use of drugs). i really don't know how to say it in english but its like the average age for doing certain things is goin lower and lower every year, i see now children of 11-10 years old showing off iphone 5 and s4 like nothing, mainly because parents are used to spoil their kids... it is just sad seeing people ruined by this economy. Even if a family struggle to get through the month (taxes always getting bigger and salary smaller) they buy expensive stuff for their children... in the last few years a there's been a lot of new taxes and such, and unfortunately a lot unemployed people committed suicide either to end a sad life or to cut some costs to a family.

Now Personally i recognize what mussolini did, but what a lot of history books doesn't tell you is what mullosini did for this country. Again i can talk hours about him and his campaign but i will write a few lines just to get things straight.

At the time he was able to make italy work again, he helped out an entire generation of people who didn't have much. he gave people jobs, house, roads, education and most important he gave people a hope... All of this was the good mussolini. The bad comes when he joined the war with Hitler & co. That's the bad Mussolini. I can say all of this thanks to my grandparents who told me a lot of story about him (they met him personally at the time). It was also one of the most Charismatic man on earth, he could persuade you with his words. Now a lot of people is really against him and his faith even if they ignore the real Benito Mussolini.

oh yes it happens all the time... Maybe you start walking on the shore talking to someone and you find yourself 3 miles away in like a minute lol

Anyway my opinion on mussolini are in the other post and women.... it really depends if they are from the south or the north.. North are really more freaky... South ones instead still believe in traditions and such
