  1. If you're on ethernet than unless your router is pure shit you should be achieving the highest speed/lowest ping possible, gaming router do improve performance in some scenarios (wifi one of those) but it won't solve your problem. If you have a bad connection straight from the isp there's nothing you can do unfortunately.
  2. upgrading ram and psu won't make any difference regarding to 2k gaming. Ram could be an issue when it comes to certain games needing more than 8 GB but that has nothing to do with the graphics side. The GPU does all the work in the end, I think a substantial upgrade would be to sell that 1060 and buy a new GPU. You can add a stick of ram if you need it for some games.
  3. Use DDU to uninstall previous drivers then swap gpus and install new one.
  4. Nice! Good luck on your journey and be sure to post pictures here, id love to see the end result!
  5. If I remember correctly SE has a lot of physics involved which Im pretty sure are server side... the cpu is certainly relevant but I dont think you have to go the multiple quad cores way.
  6. Is there any benchmark online? What are the minimum and recommended requirements for running a server ?
  7. I think that to host game servers and in general to host services, a basic (if not advanced) knowledge of networking is required. most of the issues you will have revolve around firewalls and port mapping. Firing up a server and expecting to make it work on first try is really out of the question. That said when it comes to game servers usually RAM needs to scale simultaneously with the number of player you want to play with. 4x or 2x quad cores will always be better than the 8 core amd but it really depends on SE server and how well it scales across multiple threads and cpu's.
  8. Windows Fast Startup significantly lowers my pc performance, I always disable it.
  9. You have to look into enterprise software for managing large sets of PCs. Spiceworks its a good example but even that has limited features.
  10. I have a 24" 144hz and 27" 60hz. I use the 24 as a primary monitor since the 27" at 1080p lets me see too many pixels, it really depends how far you sit from the monitor but a normal desk distance imho the 24" is better. Plus G-Sync should be an awesome experience.
  11. Put a lot of force on the edges and corners while being careful not to cut yourself.
  12. So I've been searching for a while for rack case that would support more than a GPU, I think I can share with you some key aspects. After drooling over it and server equipment i decided I wanted to rack mount everything and possibly configure an unraid machine with multiple gpu host inside. There are few cases which can be used to host a full atx system or Ea Atx system with up to 4 gpus. Things to consider though are: 1. budget, this cases cost way more than your typical case due to the fact that they are super sturdy and built with metal. 2. location, Here in italy there are few cases available and shipping from other countries is very expensive. (they weigh a ton) 3. Where to mount it. Rack closets can get very expensive! Even more than the case itself. That said they are also big and weigh a shit ton. 4. Noise, while you can get a case with space for 120mm fans and make them very quiet, cooling performance will suffer a lot! Also 2 gpus yikes! That said you will need at least a 3U if mounting full bracket pcie gpus. assuming you have access with chenbro cases i'd go with them. Something like this should do the trick just fine.
  13. Yeah luckily its a slow day at work and I saw your post! It's a feature that I think works well on optimized machines such as laptop e prebuilt desktop, it should basically save some stuff when shutting down so that when you turn on your pc, it loads stuff faster. More often that not it causes problems. Happy it fixed everything!
