I'm assuming 1080p? If so, yeah, he's right. Your GPU won't be running at 100% most of the time.

It's a good card, and it might be bottlenecked slightly by the processor. It's not a good platform, however if you already have it and you're on a budget it's not the absolute worst thing in the world.

Your better off getting a better CPU, the GTX 1060 6GB is a great card, and that FX CPU won't be putting out everything you want. Best bet will be to try and go to the Ryzen platform with something like the Ryzen 1600 if you can't afford to go for a Ryzen 2600, then get 8-16GB of DDR4 RAM, and a B350 or B450 motherboard depending on if you get the Ryzen 1600 or 2600.

he has everything except the GPU and HDD. 32GB of RAM in fact. so, at this point he is a little bit invested in this FX system.

Misread it, the 1050 TI is a better card to get. if the OP plans to update his CPU in the next 1-2 years.

As far as i know he plans to keep it for a while. Next time i have access to a 1060, im going to see what settings are best for his system (system i am referencing is FX-6300) so i think it only goes up from there.
