Nope. B450 supports all Raven Ridge and Pinnacle Ridge CPUs (full Ryzen 2000 range) out of the box.

No, for the CPU you're going to buy you won't need a BIOS update on every B450 board

A BIOS update is needed in order to run Ryzen 2000 series chips on a B350 or X370 motherboard. The B450/X470 boards are made specifically for the 2000 series chips.

they are needed, but if it isn't old stock they already have the bios update
