not really a budget build, with a 1060, go for a 1080p 75hz or a 1440p monitor imo.

Personaly i would go with a Ryzen 5, ditch the aftermarket cooler, and get a SSD. Also switch out the 1tb HDD for a cheaper one.

You could also get better memory for that price.

You should reconsider your case fan choice, those Cooler Master ones look cheap and sktechy despite their 69CFM claim. Picking up instead some Arctic F12 fans or Corsair AF, SP, or ML fans will likely be a better option.

You should also consider an SSD as a boot device. Your PC will perform much better in the loading times specifically with an SSD instead of a lone HDD.

  • Ditch the hybrid drive and get a 120gb ssd/1TB HDD.
  • Get a better case. For an extra $10 you can get a significantly better one, with tempered glass.
  • Don't bother with the WiFi adapter. As others have suggested, upgrade the motherboard to one with built in WiFi.
  • Get a better PSU. The CXM from Corsair is usually on sale.
  • You don't really need additional fans. Money can be better spent elsewhere.
  • I personally wouldn't get a Razer keyboard. For a similar price there are much better options.

it'll only perform at ssd-like speeds for the most used programs, everything else runs at HDD speeds. not worth it.

it's much worse. the stock cooler is fine for an i5 8400, if temps are too high then grab an M9i, aidos or hyper 212, whichever is cheaper.

however that said that dive would make a good steam drive so keep it and also ADD a SSD or NVME gen3x4 drive. if the NVME R/W speed are 1600MB per second or greater it most likely is a GEN3x4
