Are you going to upgrade to Z390?

If you have Z370 right now and is planning to upgrade to i9-9900K in the future,

Will you be upgrading to the Z390 knowing that it's basically the same as Z370?

@mikedrewsmy

i have a Z370 and an 8700K and i see no reason to upgrade my motherboard to Z390, i do want that 9900K a few years later though O.o 8 COOREESSSS

again what did they add in Z390? native USB 3.1 and Wifi? don't use either of them

What if they basically the 9900K work just fine on the Z370?
All i realised it now the boards are getting aesthetically better.

So minus the USB 3.1 Gen 2 and integrated wifi,

Will u upgrade it?

My current Z370-P is garbage anyway, so if I upgrade my motherboard, it might as well be Z390 as long as the prices aren't super inflated.

The problem with a person like me going for Z390 is that I'm skeptical of how much improvements I can get from an i5-9600K versus my current i5-8600K.

If the current Z370 supports the i9 9900K i'd probably pick up a cheaper Z370 board, I don't really care about the aesthetics or onboard wifi.

pretty sure they're supported, my ASUS Z370-A got a 9th Gen BIOS update a few months ago.

the current 8600k i have is from messing up a build for someone, so i took his 8600k and he got the 8700k instead. the z370 builds basically reinforced the importance of hyperthreading nowadays (even for gaming).

For these reasons ill be specifically looking at binned 9900ks and not the 9700k

The Z370 motherboards WILL support the new i9-9900k with the most recent bios update. What you give up by not upgrading to the Z390 motherboard is yet to be determined, beefed up VRM’S, I don’t know at the moment maybe Linus knows I’m sure he has some boards ready to be reviewed as the i9-9900k is close.... real close to launching from what all the youtubers are hinting aka Hardware Unboxing said he actually has the i9-9900k and has tried it in several Z370 motherboards which booted straight away!! #overclock #asus   I love to build PC’s I’m obsessed with it! My new build is the i9-9900k, Corsair 1000D, ASUS Maximus XI Formula (as soon as it’s out) Corsair LL120 fans out the ass! 32gigs of Corsair RGB PRO 3200 MHz memory all water cooled with EK’s waterblocks oh I almost forgot my preordered RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition GPU which will be here on October 5th!! Along with the EK waterblock for it. 2 Alphacool 480mm Radiators 1 360mm Radiator all 60mm thick in push/pull configuration. Boy is this one going to twinkle LMFAO. Later my fellow builders Btw my last build was a i7-7700k with a Maximus ix Formula Thermaltake Snow Tower a couple of pic to show I’m not a bullshiter
