Clean looking case with window and room for H100 (or similar)

fewkesy

As the title suggests, I'm looking for a clean looking case (nothing sticking out, just relatively simple) that has sufficient space to mount an H100 (or similar) in the roof and has a windows on the side. Preferably USB 3 on the front I/O as well. Something along the lines of the Obsidian 650D/800D.

Is there anything cheaper out there or am I going to have to pay full whack for all these features? (Availability in the UK is the other problem)

From what I've seen, It's pretty tough to be able to get a dual rad in the top without obstructing the motherboard and I can't mount the rad in the front of the case due to needing the 3.5" bays.

Why not go with a 650D? It's good value and you get Corsair quality.

The Corsair Graphite 600T. Will most definitely fit the H100/H100i

The one i linked you is the one with the windowed side panel but it's about 30 CAD more than the usual 600T

How much is your budget by the way.

+1 for the 600T and 650D. Both have excellent windows, although the 650D does look "cleaner" in my opinion.

You were a noob once too!

Unfortunately there aren't many simple cases out there at a low price. A lower cost alternative to the 650D is the 550D. There's the Bitfenix Ghost, or the LIAN LI PC-7HX. I wish there were more to chose from because I like a sleek design as well but they're either too expensive or lack certain features i'm looking for.

There's no particular budget for the case. I've got a rough system outline that I'm looking to build and I'm trying to save money wherever possible (joys of being a student).

Either I was looking in the wrong places or I just completely forgot to shop around, but the 650D doesn't seem as expensive as it was when I started to price up my build.

Still open to more recommendations, but if not, 650D it is. Thanks guys.

Why not a Corsair C70? It's an amazing case, and it's cheaper than the ones you mentioned.

If you don't like the mounting holes for fans on the window, the plastic should be really easy to replace with a plain one.

In fact I'll do it myself asap.

The Corsair 600T looks great with an H100, you can get the case with a mesh side panel or a window. I have the mesh one but you should be able to pick the windowed one up for about £130 in the UK.

There is honestly a plethora of options for a windowed H100 compatible case now. It would be better if we knew how much you wanted to spend.

its not windowed, yet, but there are side panels for the fractal design arc midi.

mega-room for H100(i) push/pull (no mobo interference) or later a custom

waterloop with monster rads..

the kracken X60 will fit with some roof hole reloacations..

CM storm trooper is cheap and really good and it can easily take the h100 it actually can take 2 240mm rads with absolutely no modding :-)

Brand new 900D?
I believe the OP was looking for something relatively cheap.

In response to many points made here:

Budget is probably no more than £150, but that is a bit flexible depending on how much I manage to pick up a 3770k for.

I do really like the 600T, I think it's a fantastic case. I just don't like the fan controller on the top of the case, but I will strongly consider it.

The phantom 410 is again another great case, but I don't like the angular design of it.

On the fractal design side, the only one I'd really consider is the R4, but as I mentioned, from what I've seen there isn't quite enough room for an H100 in the top of the case.

I'd love to be able to afford the 900D, but if I had that sort of money right now, I'd be buying the 800D or probably something like a TJ07.

Finally as for the CM storm trooper, the design of the top of the case puts me off.

I know I'm being really picky, but all your help is much appreciated guys.

CM Storm Stryker? Personally i think it looks smexy as hell :p

I'd advise staying well away from NZXT cases. I'm currently using a Switch 810 which i hate due to the large amounts of plastic which makes it feel cheap as hell. Customer support is also non-existant in the UK :(

  • 2 weeks later...

The 650D and the 600T are beginning to tempt me, although I haven't been completely sold.

Any thoughts on the bitfenix shinobi xl?

(My budget has increased a little as I got a good deal on a Corsair h100 and RAM)

The coolermaster HAF XM is a great case but you have to buy the window separate. I know the case badge says AMD Phenom II but i have the 3570k in it with the MSI-Mpower motherboard. I just don't want to use my Intel badge right now. I have the H100i and it fits good in this case
