Since I do not plan on purchasing my pc components for another couple months, should I purchase the ryzen 5 2600x, or wait and see if AMD releases a new line up of cpus?

Buy 2600x, it's only about 6 months old.

AMD is not going to release a new line of CPUs in the near future, so go ahead and buy that 2600x if that's what you can afford.

There may be some small discounts on Black Friday or as you get near to Christmas but not something huge... if you're not going to buy the parts for a couple of months you may just as well hold on the purchase and see how things evolve.
