Why give them your money when they help make people poor?

There are other unethical companies out there. I shop on amazon because nobody else ships for so cheap, nobody in my area carries what I'm interested in, and nobody has anything else as cheap as Amazon. I think your name is pretty childish.

And sure, they make very rich billionaires even richer than they already are.

Where do you shop? Cause around me there are not many options.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

especially shipping from the US to israel is a very bad idea as these countries dont have the best relationship and no really useful trade agreements.

The view of Amazon coming here to Australia has been met with a fair amount of criticism like some of @Amazonsucks points and in particular, to reports that suggest the whole business in its entirety does not make a profit. Do make it seem somewhat shambolic. As a side note, it is no longer possible to buy from vendors in the US as the company does not want to collect taxation on behalf of the Australian government but apparently, you can use a mail-forwarder @Mhmd.

On the positive side of the equation, Amazon moving into this new market has made US manufacturers realise that Australia is a growth market and shipping and product prices have gone from two T-shirts and freight costing about AUD$129 to a more reasonable AUD$61.

Also, the Amazon model in Australia has an issue that they did not realise before entering the domestic market, which is that Australian's will and do purchase on the global market, especially from Hong Kong and mainland China who's merchants offer free delivery (if you are prepared to wait about a month).

Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves (Abraham Lincoln,1808-1865; 16th US president).

Depends on what im buying. I order clothes and shoes made in New Zealand, Australia, Portugal, USA directly from the manufacturer or small online retailers. Target, Publix, other local brick and mortar. If im buying computer parts its always Newegg. Other assorted stuff comes from Vermont Country Store, Bloomingdales, Williams Sonoma, all of which can be bought online and all have not made in China options.

I used to love Whole Foods but Amazon ruined it entirely. Expired food litters the shelves and the selection sucks now. The good employees mostly quit and now its clueless zombies that roam the aisles at my WF, soon to be replaced with robots im sure.

@SydneySideSteveSomewheres its unfortunate for the Aus economy just how much you import from China. Its cheap, but your currency and real estate markets reflect the detrimental effects of outsourcing manufacturing and importing cheaply made goods faster than a populated place like the USA. Its very evident that peoples' short term "gotta get the lowest price" mentality costs them a much higher price in the long run.

After losing your entire automotive industry and so much manufacturing capability, every Australian citizen should be protesting in the streets to have Amazon banned from your country, but people all over the world have become so complacent that they welcome their destroyers with open arms.

@aki adaki use whatever ad hoc justifications for buying from them that you need to in order to rationalize it to yourself.

I also dont give a shit what you think of my name. What are you 5? "Ur name sucks tee hee!"
