Newegg/Amazon overseas shipping

Anyone tried ordering from newegg or amazon from outside the US, or any where they'd have to ship overseas? If so, how was it? Was it cheaper than buying things locally?

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 Ghz  | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 |  PaliT GTX 1050Ti  |  8gb Kingston HyperX Fury @ 2933 Mhz  |  Corsair CX550m  |  1 TB WD Blue HDD

Inside some old case I found lying around.

If price difference between Newegg and local stores is like 2 times, then I would say it is worth taking the risk.

I have bought from Newegg and shipped to Australia several times. They have free international shipping and collect the applicable tax, so it works out (sometimes drastically) cheaper than buying locally. Their range also includes things that just aren’t available here at all.

Best value for me seems to be RAM, I’ve bought RAM lots that weren’t available here before, and one 64GB kit that was nearly $300 cheaper than buying locally.

Not quite double but nearly there. What I'm worried about is the taxes and shipping cost.

What about returns though? Is that the risk I'll have to take?

Depends on your place

How much do they charge to ship to your place?

How much are import fees in your country?

How good is the shipping company offered ?

Then you compare the total price with your local price and dont forget that you may need to pay extra fees for shipping back to seller for your warranty if you need when you are buying abroad.

Wouldn't do it... At least for the Europe scenario as there is no big difference between the prices once you've calculated the import tax and customs...

EU is way different from smaller countries that don't belong in any trade unions. EU controls its markets as whole and anything outside of that will be as par or more expensive with local options. For OP, it might be different as Philippines might not have as strict restrictions with US.
