mega wifi

I recently moved to an area that has no access to Internet other than my phone's hotspot. what I would like to do is Mount this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P4JKQGK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 on a satellite dish. however I am not sure exactly where to place it and how to orient the satellite dish due to too many articles on the subject which have confused me to no end. so anybody with any insight into this issue your help would be much appreciated.

I'm confused... why do you want to mount an Access Point on a satellite dish, and what are you trying to achieve without an internet connection for the AP to draw from? AP's need a connection to wire into... otherwise they'll just broadcast a WiFi network that has no outside WAN connection, thus resulting in no internet for any devices that you connect to their wifi network...

Just get a wifi dish. Don't try to do diy here. Get something like this https://www.ubnt.com/airmax/rocketdish-antenna/

it can also act as an AP / Client / Repeater / AP Router / AP Client Router (WISP) i tested this and it could detect and connect to my phone hotspot to my pc over 750 feet away

 

i would like to diy because i would like to learn for future projects how to put this stuff together i also already have the stuff i need on hand

Whats the purpose of this though? Are you trying to share WiFi with another location by doing a point to point link? Keep in mind that devices like phones, tablets, PC's tend to have WiFi cards that dont have long range ability. 

 

If you like to DIY you can make your own antenna as well. Ive seen it done with a pringles can.

something like this but it runs off of an ethernet cable that i can the plug into a router that will then provide wifi to my devices
