How to upgrade to CyanogenMod 11 Nightlies

I had quite a bit of trouble updating my HTC One from CyanogenMod 10.2 to CyanogenMod 11 for numerous reasons. So to help others not have the same problems I made a guide on how to do it.

http://techrandn.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/how-to-install-cyanogenmod-11.html

Hope this helps some people out.

My rig: i5 2500k, MSI Z77A G45, Gainward GTX 980 Phantom, 8GB Corsair Vengeance, OCZ ZT series 750W PSU, 1TB HDD, 800D, fully water cooled. I am currently working on modding my HAF 912+ to fit a custom loop, here is the build log: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/165963-project-viridis-water-cooled-haf-912/

A guide is a good idea! I didn't read yours at all, just want to throw in my 2 cents as to how I went about doing mine.

Since you basically have to start over anyways, and I had clockworkmod from the cyanogenmod windows installer thing I tried out for 10.2 but realized once I got it I much preferred TWRP from my 10.1 install, so to make things easy, I re-flashed with newest TWRP, and then 100% whipped my phones data. From there, I sideloaded the new 11 nightly.

If you google sideload htc one, its actually very easy. Had to do this because HTC one has no physical SD card, and when I 100% formatted my device, there is no longer an OS to load ;)

How has your experience with 11 been btw? I am on 12/25/13 and have had about a crash per day, just randomly goes to the CM bootscreen and reboots phone :/. But besides that it seems like a solid nightly.

I have not had any crashes yet personally. I am on the latest one, 12/31/13 I think. The only problems I have had have been easily fixed mostly apart from I cannot get the "ok google" hot word to work. There are some other features which are missing but I expect that because it is a Nightly.

That's funny, I had no issues with ok google, except I turned it off to try and judge battery life vs jellybean. So far doesn't seem much different, although at idle it does seem to use a bit less. O and secure settings helper wouldn't install which is annoying. I will probably try out 1/1/14 later tonight. Hopefully it will fix my few issues.
