How to avoid customs on PC parts?

I live in Croatia and am currently in Canada. I found some local deals while here and paid around $550 CAD for a 1060 and some other stuff (ssd, mousepad, case fans...).

When I go back to Croatia, will I have to pay import duties for the parts I've bought here? Could I lie and say that I took them out of the computer and paid nothing?

Hand or checked baggage? The possibility of them taking my GPU is stressing me out.

I will just say this.

It would probably NOT be a wise course of action to Lie to customs.  For like any reason.... for what i would think are fairly obvious reasons.

In case they arent.... jail time is never fun.

I read on a website that things like laptops and certain electronics can be imported to Croatia duty free. However, it is extremely subjective because I can't seem to find a Croatian Government website that tells me otherwise.

What reason would they have to take your GPU?

I don't have the money to pay an extra $100 (?) on import duties. Not paying that would probably result them in seizing the things, right?

It might.

Honestly, if you can't afford to pay any necessary money to bring parts back to your country, I would just not buy them.

but is $100 worth jail time to you?

if you Lie to them, that a risk you are taking.  theres also things like No Fly lists... lots of stuff that is in general not good.

I dont know shit about Croatia, but thats typically how it works in the U.S.

CBSA is very strict on people coming in and leaving the country. I would assume your boarder services in Croatia are also very serious. They need to know what you're bringing in and expect you to pay taxes on things you import to the country, because you are importing them after all.

Certain things are duty free, and this link seems to explain what tariffs you'd have to pay if you're importing from a country listed. I've typed everything from "Personal Computer" to "Laptop" to "Graphics Card" just to try and search for an item, and couldn't find anything. If you're in Canada, I'd try contacting your Embassy to find out more information.

It may be covered under general "electronics", though it may not.  I honestly havent had to deal with customs for anything but some cans of apple Tango i brought back in from England when i went on vacation a number of years ago...

When I was coming to Canada I brought in like 2 tablets and a phone in my hand luggage, they didn't care. Not sure what it's going to be like on my way back.

theres a difference between "hey this is the crap i brought with me" and "hey this is the crap i brought with me, and i bought this other stuff while i was there"

Some things you need to declare to customs, other things you dont.  all depends on the laws and regulations in croatia.

I just found my airport's site, it says up to € 450 without paying any tax/import duties. I guess I should be fine, we'll see.

You might need to pay import fee's since I went on vacation on India and got a Dhol but I could not take it back to canada so I had to pay 100 Import.

It's common. But lying will probably cause a bit more controversy. I'd say just pay the import fee or just store the item's you got into some box.

Lying will be committing fraud. So if you get caught, thats criminal by default. If you are honest and they impound stuff, you might be able to get them later when you have money to pay for them.

It doesn't specify between new/used and category of things? In here its €150 for new electronics brought outside of EU/ETA. Used stuff is different, but if you are bringing in new stuff as used, you are still committing fraud. And as per forum rules, I'm not allowed to inform how to do that.

Every. Depending on what you lie about, and whether you decide to tell truth or not upon being discovered. Keeping people at holding cell is quite effective way to get them talking. Whether it results actual criminal case or just fines is another thing.
