PC won't boot with 2 sticks of RAM

Hi guys,

I would like to ask for your help with this issue I'm struggling with, namely my PC refusing to boot with 2 sticks of RAM.

Specs:

Motherboard: MSI Z370 Tomahawk

CPU: i7-8700

GPU: GTX 1080

RAM: GoodRam IRDM X 2x8GB DDR4, 3000 MHz, 16 CL

PSU: Gigabyte B700H

It is an all new build. RAMs were bought together as a set. Naturally I insert them in their respective slots according to the MB instructions. If both sticks are inserted, the PC won't boot. It powers up, the fans are spinning etc., however the display doesn't detect any signal and I don't hear the Windows start up sound, therefore I'm assuming it doesn't boot. Each stick works fine individually but only in the DIMMA 2 slot (the first one according to the instructions). If I put a stick in any of the other slots, the same problem occurs.

I am afraid it might be the motherboard problem but before I return it, I would like to exhaust all other possible solutions. Please help :)

try attaching your video cable directly to the mobo and see if it post

is your ram compatible according to your mobo manual?

usually, when DIMM slots are non-functional, we'd want to see if any of the pins in the CPU socket are bend/moved/damaged. if that is fine, then look to the rear of the motherboard for scraps to the wire traces, especially in the RAM area.
