So I’ve been looking at various gaming/streaming CPUs and I can’t decide between 2700X, 2600X, 8700k and 8600k. Will the 2600X or 8600k do the job well or is it worth it to shell out the extra 100 and get the 2700X or 8700k? I just can’t decide between these 4 CPUs. Please help me. (I’m using a GTX 1080)

maybe its worth it to wait until september/october to see what Intels new i9 9900k is made of, and to see what price it is going to be.

Have you some links that verify that statement that Intel is inferior to AMD at streaming?

In my book and to my knowledge both are excellent at streaming and gaming. Most bang for the buck is AMD, Intel has "Intel tax", more expensive but not that much better at either gaming or streaming to justify the extra $$$.

why deciding now when a new release isnt long away anymore.. doesnt make sense at all.

BTW 8700k vs 2700x are about equal when set up right in streaming + gaming.

if you're on a budget i would get a ryzen cpu

if you want some higher framerates get a 8700k

i've tested the 8700k at 5ghz and everything runs nicely on medium cpu preset in OBS.

i personally don't have ryzen experience so i guess you gotta watch allot of youtube vids about this.

''for streaming Intel is not gonna be good'' oke.. lol

both 8700k or 2700x will be close and will get the job done.

Exactly. Like I said, most bang for the bucks, AMD without a doubt and yes, it has the upper hand, but not with a huge margin.

why are you keep coming back on that video? it doesn't even show the 8700k..

many other videos show that the 8700k and ryzen 8core cpu's are very close and saying that ''for streaming Intel is not gonna be good'' is just not true.

i suggest you watch THIS video from 9:18

It's not me that claims that "'for streaming Intel is not gonna be good", it's @Pixel5

I concur with you that both AMD and Intel is more than capable to handle streaming and gaming at the same time. The difference is negligeabel in performance. The only thing I say is that AMD gives an edge on the cost, as it's costs less than Intel.

Don't be a parrot and repeat what you heard once or twice.... I stream on twitch or record with obs with a 8700k getting 70-85fps in games while recording/streaming but just gaming I get the same fps as I'm gpu bottlebecked. The Ryzen might get 3-7 fps more while doing both at once but in just gaming alone the Intel gets substantially better fps then a 2700x. So if on a budget yes get ryzen. But OP if you can wait wait for the i9 it's shaping up to blow the doors off 2700x cpus.

2700x because has the most cores and AMD has the least Problems with two heavy load Threads at the same time.

maybe simple watch the reviews by yourself, streaming is not just about performance as you can get better performance with more lossy encoding bnutt hats what you dotn want.

its a fact that Ryzen is better for streaming in general.

well i just provided one of many examples why AMD is better for streaming speficially, LMG comparted the encoding quality while the performance was nearly equal and you can find various more review where the for example compared dropped frames where Ryzen is again better.

In short: if you want a PC specifically for streaming games and you dont get ryzen you are making a mistake.

the comments here read more like you know ryzen is better for this but want confirmation to get the Intel CPU because thats what you really want, if thats the case get Intel and just know you maybe have the better CPU for gaming but not for streaming games.

But would the 100 USD price tag difference be worth it between 2600X and 2700X?
