Thx for your advice! I'll try to save more, so that i can effort the 6gb version :)

Good! This will last you longer and you'll be more happy with it

The 970 4GB and 1060 3GB are basically the same in terms of performance. The 970 has 512MB more VRAM (old joke, still applies) so in that regard it's the better choice.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

There both at the bottom of the barrel of what I'd get with low specs I wouldn't count on either running games on good settings much longer. Atleast get a 6gb 1060. Building a system with lower end old parts expecting it to last awhile don't make sense. Yeah it'll last but as new games come out there getting more and more demanding.

Firestrike
i7-8700k @5.0GHz w/ 1.30v, Corsair h100iv2, Gigabye Aorus gaming 7, 16GB(8x2) 2666MHz ddr4, Dual RX470's OC'd to 1390mhz(atm) in corssfire - liguid cooled with corsair h60's, 3.25 TB in Samsung SSD's, anidees white crystal cube case

Retired:

I agree that a 1060 6gb would be better even if it cost a bit more also you could find a cheap 1060 6gb for 200$

Even though the other 512mb are slower vram, it does allow for situations where some games or mods need a strict amount of vram.  It will count as a 4gb card.

I think the only reason I would get a 1060 3gb instead is if you absolutely had to have your video card new.  It will match the 970 ignoring the above situation.  That's why it's usually recommended to save up for a 6gb card instead.
