Windows Registry for Dummies

Hey guys. 

 

Did you ever have to contact Microsoft Live Support center to fix something on your windows?

Did you ever see how they apply some changes to the registry?

Well, where can I find like the manual for all what they have there? 

I mean, you can not remember all of that, so there is a catch, does anyone know where I can learn all of that?

Not only how to use it, but what every key does, and what responsible for?

As a tech support engineer I can assure you, nobody knows that shit from memory. It's called having a secondary display with various articles outlining solutions and exact steps to take. GoogleFu is critical

the registry is just a very convoluted method of storing windows configuration data. Its a local database that stores info in key value pairs. Just look for information on the app you want to change settings for. For instance here is some stuff relating to Chrome
