Soo i saw the last video of linus soo i was thinking on installing linux on my pc to play games with a vm becose im planning to buy a gtx 1060 FE in the next few weeks.

One think i dont know Do i need a Amd gpu for Virtualization? becose in the video Wendell said it uses the vulkan api for virtualization and thats from amd 

And should i change the cpu to a i7-4790K from Cex for 200 €?

Asus Gtx 750 ti

Gigabyte z97 hd3 Rev2.1

i5-5670k

8gb 1333mhz (im planning to get 16 gb at 1600mhz)

240 sdd fron kingston

2 TB of hard drive (Internal:Seagate, External:Toshiba)

1 Expansion card with 4 usb 3.0

Vulkan runs on any GPU brand. The technology was created and then handed off by AMD but it isn't exclusive. If Nvidia would have made it you bet your top dollar it would have been only for them

Oh it has 2 different  virtualization technology mine it only has the first one i can run virtual box and vmware without any problem

One thing they didn't cover in the video is if you can use the integrated GPU for linux then the gpu for pass through. I see no reason why you couldn't.

For the Wine method it doesnt matter what graphics card you use. For the virtualization method, it also doesnt matter that card you use however you can run into a problem with Nvidia cards where the driver is blocked in windows. You need to enable a feature in KVM that will hide the VM signature from the driver which will allow it to run.

If your processor supports VT-d or whatever the AMD equivalent is and you have a video out port that is connected to the motherboard and not the video card then you can.
