It's not so much pride as it is I simply have enough money to buy one, so why would I damage my body?

If you include money, I'd consider it for the money, not the card. So it's a totally different question.

At that point, why even bother? You won't get the GPU and you'll still be stuck with a broken finger that will likely never be the same again.
