yep still undecided but ill take my time to think about it as it is my first build im not that educated on what the 'best parts' are for £1200 as im going to game and do graphics/media studies on it as im still at school

Yeah being undecided while choosing PC parts is fatal, you have to make a solid decision. What I'm seeing here is that you have two minds, one thinking about an 8700K build and one thinking about an 8600K build.

yep but because i've never built a pc before i don't know what are the best parts for £1200 as a 8700k will give me faster rendering times and better gaming performance but with a 8600k i can get a better gpu

I think what's happened is that you've asked for advice on what you should build and because people have given you different opinions you've taken them in and it's confused you. At the end of the day you have to think about what is good for you as a user, what do you want the PC for and what do you want to achieve on it. It's only natural for people to give you different options but you are ultimately end user of the machine. Like I said earlier, think it through have a quite sit down to think and to clear your mind.

thanks its helped a lot it gets confusing when you look at benchmarks and all of them say different ill take my time to think about it as im going to be gaming mainly but also photo and video editing as thats part of my coursework at school so i will look some more and take my time then eventually have a good pc and parts list
